Nonprofit Newspapers Might Not Be a Bad Idea after all

A Maryland Senator proposes to let newspapers go non-profit to keep local businesses (and the very fabric of old-school journalism) alive. The only thing they wouldn’t be able to do is endorse one political candidate over another, which is not as big of a loss as losing the news font altogether. They would still be able to dig up, and dish out, the dirt on either side; which, in reality, is the chief and most important function of the free press.

So what if they can’t tell you how to vote, they can still vehemently point you in the right direction…
